Low Cost Funeral Limited receives FCA approval for its pre-paid funeral plans

Low Cost Funeral Limited has today received final regulatory approval by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to continue selling pre-paid funeral plans.

Ronnie Wayte, Deputy CEO, Low Cost Funeral Limited, said:

“We welcome today’s announcement and believe it is a great step forward for the industry in terms of providing reassurance and confidence to customers. Hopefully, this announcement will give them 100% comfort that their investment in a pre-paid funeral plan is safe.

“At the heart of these new regulations is customer choice. We are committed to providing customers with a diverse choice, ranging from direct cremation to celebration-of-life attended services or a traditional funeral.

“At this time of increasing inflation, families are facing a cost-of-living crisis and therefore a family death could plunge them into debt. However, we can provide them with a choice of options to give them a service that suits their needs but at a price that they can afford. As a result, we will be launching our ‘Memoria Against Funeral Poverty’ initiative on Monday 1st August 2022. This initiative, led by Memoria Funerals, will invite other funeral directors and crematoria owners to join us to help families have a local attended funeral service.”
